China Tourist Visa Requirements
Please send the following items to TravNET for processing:
1. A signed passport valid for at least six months beyond stay.
2. Completed Chinese Visa Application Form ( PDF).
3. One passport-size photo taken within the past six months.
4. A completed China Visa Fee Form (PDF).
5. Payment information.
Please remember the following:
– DO NOT MAIL YOUR PASSPORT OR VISA APPLICATION VIA REGULAR MAIL
– We will contact you via email upon receipt of your passport and application
– We will contact you via email upon completion and advise return tracking information

Notice of Additional Requirements for Chinese Visa Applications
There have been many recent, overnight changes that have taken place at the Chinese Consulate of Chicago based on new laws and regulations mandated by the Chinese Government. We kindly ask that you pay close attention.
Effective April 15, 2008, additional requirements for visa applications are as follows:

United States Passport holders
a.Business Travelers, please supply a Business Invitation Letter:
Letter from employer/sponsoring company, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to China. The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant, provide detailed contact information in host country, and specify the number of entries being requested.
b. Business Visa (F)
Applicants need to provide a Visa Notice issued from an authorized Chinese department/company, hotel reservations and round trip flight ticket reservations.

Non US Passport holders
Applicants should apply for visas from the Chinese Embassy or Consulates in their home country. If applicants need to apply for visas in our Consulate, they need to provide proof of their valid status of long term residency in the US, e.g. green card or valid visas. Our Consulate does not accept individual tourist visa applications from non US passport holders. There is no multiple entry on non-US passports.
An applicant born in China who applies for a Chinese visa with a new foreign passport should submit his/her Chinese passport or last foreign passport with a Chinese visa.
The original passport WILL BE returned to the applicant.

Processing Time
The regular processing time is 4 business days. RUSH OR EXPEDITED SERVICE IS AVAILABLE.
a. Visa, Notarization and Authentication – 5 business days from the day you submit your application. NO express service.
b. Chinese passport renewal – 2 months from the day you submit your application

No Missing Documents.
The Chinese Consulate of Chicago will NOT accept any applications with missing documents. Please prepare all documents completely before you submit your application.
There is no multiple entry on non-US passports.
